IBC is a buying group for independent builders merchants. When IBC launched in 2008 – they had a vision for a platform of mutual benefits, to provide buying power for independent builders merchants. This meant their builders merchant members would now have the opportunity to compete with the national brands whilst simultaneously developing a captive audience for IBC’s suppliers to trade with. When we came in to work with IBC, our role was to translate IBC’s vision into a powerful message across all of their print and online communications. Part of this process meant developing a strong series of supplier branded direct marketing promotions. These would market IBC’s suppliers product range to their builders merchant members, raising brand awareness for IBC’s suppliers at the same time.

Because of our experience of developing global brands in other sectors, we were able to hit the mark each time for IBC’s suppliers, making sure their brand stayed looking consistent across all of IBC’s platforms. We then used these promotions to demonstrate what IBC could offer to other suppliers, which in turn built trust and confidence, resulting in yet more business for IBC. Good design helps cultivate good relationships. It put’s your energy into words and pictures that captivates your audience and powers up your business. Beyond the direct mailers – we pushed the IBC message for both suppliers and members alike using video, web design, email marketing and more. IBC’s direct marketing promotions worked extremely well for their business model – helping drive sales and establish solid relationships with both their builders merchant members and suppliers.

Once we established the IBC’s brand we translated that energy onto a brand new website which made it to the finals of the Herts Digital Awards.

We also developed and built an online web to print marketing platform for IBC’s members, adding further value to their membership.

Our marketing activity for IBC played a crucial role in developing their business – further success was enjoyed by one of their members in 2015 when CT Baker won the Builders Merchant Awards in London. In September 2015, John Brett, Sales Director of IBC left to start a new life in New York.
